Paid Memberships Pro adds the following list of capabilities upon activation. Every user with the administrator role will be assigned the full list of capabilities below. Use the Membership Manager Role Add On to allow a user to access the “Membership” area WordPress, without having to give them full admin access.

Capabilities in Paid Memberships Pro
pmpro_addons
Users with this capability can access the list of Add Ons from the Memberships > Add Ons screen in the WordPress admin.
pmpro_advancedsettings
Users with this capability can access the settings page and make changes to Advanced Settings under Memberships > Settings > Advanced.
pmpro_dashboard
Users with this capability can access the main PMPro site dashboard on the Memberships > Dashboard screen in the WordPress admin. Individual sections of this screen require additional capabilities, such as the report widgets and recent members metabox.
pmpro_discountcodes
Users with this capability can create, copy, edit, and delete discount codes from the Memberships > Settings > Discount Codes screen.
pmpro_edit_members
Users with this capability can view the edit member page and edit the member’s memberships.
pmpro_emailsettings
Users with this capability can modify general settings related to membership site emails as well as connect or disconnect the site to from SendWP’s email sending service. These actions are handled on the Memberships > Settings > Email Settings screen.
pmpro_emailtemplates
Users with this capability can edit every email template sent to your members and site admins. They can also selectively disable an email template from sending. These actions are handled on the Memberships > Settings > Email Settings screen.
pmpro_logincsv
Users with this capability can export the data used to build the Visits, Views, and Logins report.
pmpro_manage_pause_mode
Users with this capability can enable a site if the site has been put into “paused” mode.
pmpro_membershiplevels
Users with this capability can view, reorder, and edit all of your site’s membership levels. They can edit every detail of your membership levels, create new levels, and delete existing levels. These actions are handled on the Memberships > Settings > Levels screen.
pmpro_memberships_menu
Users with this capability will see the Memberships menu item in the admin toolbar and also the menu within the WordPress admin. Individual links within the menu item are controlled by individual capabilities.
pmpro_memberslist
Users with this capability can see the site’s list of members and use the list table filters or search to browse members from the Memberships > Members screen in the WordPress admin. This capability does not control whether the user can edit users or their membership levels.
pmpro_memberslistcsv
Users with this capability can export the full members list or a filtered view of members from the Memberships > Members screen in the WordPress admin.
pmpro_orders
Users with this capability can view all orders, create new orders, and delete existing orders in your site. They can click through to a single order to view and edit every detail about the order. These actions are handled on the Memberships > Orders screen.
pmpro_orderscsv
Users with this capability can export the full orders list or a filtered view of orders from the Memberships > Orders screen in the WordPress admin.
pmpro_pagesettings
Users with this capability can view and edit the assigned frontend pages that PMPro or individual Add On requires in your site. This capability does not allow users without page editing capabilities to make edits to the individual pages. These actions are handled on the Memberships > Settings > Email Settings screen.
pmpro_paymentsettings
Users with this capability can edit everything about your site’s configured payment gateway, checkout experience, tax settings, site currency, and more from the Memberships > Settings > Payment Gateway & SSL screen.
pmpro_reportcsv
Users with this capability can export the data used to build the Membership Stats report.
pmpro_reports
Users with this capability can view individual reports as well as the main Reports dashboard from the Memberships > Reports screen. Additional capabilities are required to export a report’s data to CSV, where applicable.
pmpro_sales_report_csv
Users with this capability can export the data used to build the Sales and Revenue report.
pmpro_updates
This capability is required for PMPro to run any required update scripts. Upgrades run in the background and do not require a user to trigger the process, however they will only run when a user with the correct capability is visiting the WordPress membership site admin area.
pmpro_userfields
Users with this capability can create, edit, or delete your site’s user field groups and individual fields from the Memberships > Settings > User Fields screen.
pmpro_wizard
This capability is required to run the Initial Setup Wizard or return to the wizard at a later date.
