Add additional template directories to search when loading page templates.

The hook should return an array of directory strings. Elements at the end of the array are searched first. Elements at the start of the array will be searched last.

The default locations searched are (in order):

  • /wp-content/themes/{your-theme}/paid-memberships-pro/pages/
  • /wp-content/themes/{your-parent-theme}/paid-memberships-pro/pages/
  • /wp-content/plugins/paid-memberships-pro/pages/
apply_filters( 'pmpro_pages_custom_template_path', array $default_templates, string $page_name, string $type, string $where, string $ext );

Parameters

$default_templates
array; Array of templates PMPro checks by default.
$page_name
string; The specific template that PMPro is looking for.
$type
string; The type of template, e.g. “pages” or “email”.
$where
string; Defaults to “local” to search local directory paths, but could be “url” to search for templates using URL paths.
$ext
string; The extension to add to the template name, e.g. “.php” or “.html”.

About Actions and Filters in PMPro

Hooks allow you to extend Paid Memberships Pro without editing any core plugin files. You can use a hook to program custom code that interacts with or modifies code in our plugin, Add Ons, your theme, and even WordPress itself.

There are two kinds of hooks: actions and filters.

  • Action hooks allow you to run new custom code at pre-defined locations.
  • Filter hooks allow you to change or extend existing code by modifying the data and returning it back to the software.

Click here to browse the full database of action and filter hooks available in Paid Memberships Pro. For help extending our Add Ons, refer to the individual Add On's documentation page for a list of available hooks.
